October birthdays

Birthday boys and girl.

Three generations in three days. Shared family lunch at Haven on the 29th October. Grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Cake, cheese and crackers, lollies, grapes and the first summer strawberries. Laughing, talking and drinking. Good day.

Berrynana Muffins

Banana Muffins

3 or 4 Large bananas, mashed (or 2 bananas and 1 cup frozen mixed berries)

1/2 cup brown sugar (original recipe calls for 1 cup, but I don’t like them too sweet)

1 teaspoon Vanilla essence

1 slightly beaten egg

1/3 cup melted margarine or butter

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups flour

Mix the mashed banana, sugar, vanilla, egg and margarine together. Set aside. In a separate bowl, mix together baking soda, baking powder, salt and flour. Mix wet and dry ingredients all together! Pour into greased muffin tins, and bake in 350 degrees F oven for approximately 20 minutes.

Chocolate icing

2 tablespoons Cocoa

1 cup (approx) Icing Sugar

1-2 teaspoons Butter (Melted)

Mix all together, adding icing sugar as needed to thicken icing.

Ice muffins when cooled and enjoy!

Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
